Reflections 2016

We received 32 entries for Reflections this year. Out of which the top 11 entries have been selected to move to IUSD. We can submit 3 entries per art category and division, in case you are wondering why 11. The judges tally sheet will be kept in the Reflections file in the PTA box.

The 10 participants who have artworks moving forward will be given a UP Book Bag with few art supplies in it in appreciation of their effort. Teresa Olson and the Pierson's will take care of this during flag deck this Friday.

Artworks will be submitted to council on November 1st. Ana Crabtree has kindly donated a Portfolio to assemble our artworks in. Thanks Ana.

Entry Information

PTA Reflections is a national  student recognition program to encourage artistic creativity in the classroom and at home. Students of all grades and abilities may participate and explore the arts based on the 2016-2017 theme: What Is Your Story?
Students in all grades from TK to 6th grade may choose one or all of the available arts categories, Click on the link below for rules and information:

The arts—and the National PTA Reflections program—support student success and celebrates arts learning in our school.


Students will reflect on the theme and create original works of art in the categories of dance choreography, film production, literature, music composition, photography and visual arts.

The theme for the 2016-2017 school year is What Is Your Story? 

Get Creative, Work on the art form(s) you like and submit entries on the Due date. You can participate in as many art categories you want. 
Submit entries on Oct 6 - 7.40 to 10.00 am in the QUAD/Library Each entry should have the filled up entry form along with artwork.
All entries will be reviewed. Entries satisfying all rules will immediately be accepted. Entries requiring additional work/corrections/ copies will be returned back and can be submitted again on Oct 11th. 
Oct 11: Quad - 8.00 to 8.30 am - Accept only revised entries. No New Entries. 
***It is very important that you follow all the rules (size, labeling, copies, etc.)! 
Artwork will be judged by a team of artists, parents and Teachers. Artwork will be displayed in the MPR on October 21st for parents and students to view.
Results will be announced on October 28.
Top 3 selected artworks in each /art category will then advance to the next level (Irvine School District) at the end of October.

Our fundraising efforts channel money directly to University Park Elementary School for programs that support excellence in education for ALL of our students.
